Amakakeru (“Tensho”) is a Taiko drumming ensemble of about 100 members, based in Nishitokyo City, Tokyo.
As the official Taiko team of Tanashi Shrine, they represent the spirit of Japanese culture through the majestic sound of drums, graceful dance, and the timeless tones of the shinobue (Japanese flute).
Their most important stage is the Annual Grand Festival (Reitaisai) of Tanashi Shrine in October, one of the largest and most sacred celebrations in the region, where their performance embodies prayer, unity, and the power of tradition.
With a fusion of classical artistry and modern creativity, Tensho has become a symbol of Japanese cultural expression.
